Continuous Professional Development
CPD is a learning programme that helps principal officers to maintain and nurture their skills and competencies. As a registered professional body, Batseta is authorised to offer a CPD programme to designated principal officers within the retirement fund industry.
CPD Hour Requirement
A recognised CPD programme is linked to the time spent by principal officers for professional development. One (1) hour spent on any training activity equals 1 CPD point. There are prescribed hours of learning linked to the role of a principal officer. The following CPD hours apply to designated principal officers:
Principal officers must complete 40 -60 hours (1 hour equals 1 CPD point) of continued professional development during a two-year reporting period depending on their membership status. The following designations are registered for principal officers:
a. Chartered Principal Executive Officer (CPEO): 60 CPD points per reporting period.
b. Associate Principal Executive Officer (APEO): 50 CPD points per reporting period.
c. Registered members of Batseta: 40 CPD points per reporting period.
CPD Activities

CPD activities could be both informal and formal (Examples include, seminars, conferences, readings, workshops, skills programmes, full qualifications, short courses, self-study)

There should be a blend of activities

A CPD training plan must be submitted for each year detailing all planned activities (Knowledge, skills, behaviours, reflective practices)

Dependent on membership status, members must complete 40 hours during a 2-year reporting cycle (1 hour equals 1 CPD point)
